The chaotic battle between Tiamat and Marduk

In 2012, I crafted this artwork—12 years have swiftly passed, and it's both surprising and gratifying to witness its resonance across numerous pages delving into the Babylonian myth of creation. Frequently associated in popular culture with Tiamat versus Marduk, the original myths unfold a more nuanced narrative where Ninurta triumphs over the formidable demon Asag. This divergence, although subtle, introduces a sense of coherence to the mythological tapestry.
While acknowledging the parallels between Marduk and Asag, it's intriguing to explore the shared characteristics between Marduk and Ninurta. Both figures embody facets of Mesopotamian divinity, portraying distinct attributes and roles within the pantheon. Understanding these resemblances adds depth to the mythological dynamics.
